Twin Cities Metro Ranch — Standing Seam Metal with Skylights

Charcoal standing seam with two skylights on a suburban ranch, built by our crew partner.

Project story

Twin Cities Metro Ranch — Standing Seam Metal with Skylights

This ranch home sits in a Twin Cities metro neighborhood, outside Silver Loon's Brainerd Lakes service area — real work from the crew that installs our roofs, and a good example of standing seam metal on an ordinary suburban lot, not just a lake cabin.

The house is a one-story ranch with light-blue vertical siding, a stone-accented garage, and an attached three-season porch. The new roof is a charcoal standing seam panel carrying two flashed skylights over the porch section — both cut and formed into the panel with a soldered curb, not tucked under a shingle course. A satellite mount rides the garage peak.

The photos include a wide shot of the finished house from the driveway, a work trailer and ladder staged on the street, and two rooftop views looking down at the skylights with the neighborhood spread out below. Standing seam is often pitched as a lake-cabin material — this job is the crew's proof it holds up just as well on a standard suburban roofline.
